Nihal Halimeh is a Palestinian architect and urban researcher from Lebanon, with over a decade of professional experience. She is currently leading the Architecture and Programmes Unit at the Sharjah Architecture Triennial. In this role, she oversees interdisciplinary projects focused on adaptive reuse, urban regeneration, and community engagement. Her work approaches architecture as a tool to engage with questions of displacement, collective memory, and sustainable, community-rooted practices.

Her professional journey includes collaborations with architecture offices in Beirut and Dubai, such as Bernard Khoury Architects and Pragma Architects and Planners, where she contributed to design and research-driven projects across various scales. Over time, she has cultivated a practice grounded in contextual sensitivity, cultural continuity, and incremental transformation of the built environment.

Her independent and collaborative work has been presented at institutions including the MAXXI Museum in Rome (Home Beirut: Sounding the Neighbors, 2017), the Oslo School of Architecture (Systemic Design RSD6, 2018), Paris Diderot University (Thinking Alternatives, 2018), and the University of Thessaly (Hommage à Beyrouth, 2018). She is also a participant in Decolonizing Architecture Art Studies (DAAS) in Sharjah, a research platform dedicated to critical and situated approaches to architecture and urbanism.
