Richi Bhatia
Richi Bhatia is an Indian artist based in Ahmedabad and Dubai, she works in performance, drawing, installation, food, assemblages, among other media that convey her ideas. Her works have been shown in private and intuitional spaces in India and abroad. Over the last decade Richi’s practice has transitioned to non-taxonomical research into human-animal interactions. Her installations, texts, scrolls, and assemblages create a synergy between bodies, sound, and arrangement in meat and fish markets. She is interested in slow transformations that unpack her practice through processes and collections of objects and sound. Her constructed stories seem personal at first, yet oddly open to variant degrees of interpretation and reflection. Besides her own work, Bhatia also works in curation and research.
