POCAA (Platform of Community Action and Architecture) is a platform where people from different backgrounds who are committed to working for low-income communities can engage with each other. This platform is well-connected with the socially vulnerable communities in Dhaka and is actively working with youth groups from various communities. POCAA has been co-creating various designs with these communities’ using tools like community mapping, profiling, and implementing housing and other social infrastructures in different parts of Bangladesh. “Let people be the solution” is at the core of our philosophy, and all of the ventures aim to elevate the practice of community architecture and establish a network between the communities to share good practices. POCAA works closely with Co.Creation.Architects, an architectural and landscape design studio which won Aga Khan Award for Architecture 2022 for co-creation of urban river spaces. It is also connected with Community Architects Network (CAN) which works in 19 countries of Asia.
