Aditya is an architect at Hunnarshala Foundation, based in Bhuj, Gujarat. He also leads another organisation called Aabhat as its founding director, having its core focus on participatory planning relying on the inherent wisdom of the people, especially the idea of the commons. The word 'Aabhat' comes from a collective practice in North Kutch, and can be translated to 'coming together of the people for a common good'. He has extensive experience in appropriate construction technologies and inclusive planning of the built habitat. He has worked on housing for the urban low-income groups, as well as traditional housing practices of the rural communities across India. He has also been involved with various studies and documentation projects of urban public spaces, with a focus on informality.
