Sharjah Architecture Triennial’s year-round programming is integral to the way we achieve our mission. Organized by the Triennial team, these programmes engage diverse local, regional, and international audiences, capitalize on our role as an independent platform for candid and critical dialog, and ensure that these conversations take place in Sharjah.

We have a vision of activating architecture and urbanism in the public sphere, and promoting practices that respond to the specifics of our social, economic, environmental, and cultural contexts. Our aims include ensuring sustained access to relevant contemporary discourses, raising public awareness about architecture and urbanism, and instigating the production of insightful research.

Our programming engages architectural practitioners, students, scholars, critics, policy-makers, and public audiences. Above all, the Triennial programming aims to contribute to informing a new generation in Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates—a generation invested in the built environment and capable of leading the process of making a difference in the way cities are inhabited responsibly.
